It’s summer! Having dinner with your friends, attending parties, hitting the gym, and going to the beach (just to name a few) are some of the most important things to do this summer. But as you do those activities, staying fashionable is key! (All the while being unique and exemplifying your own personality through your fashion style). If you don’t know what to wear to your next party or event this summer, I can help! As of today, I am going to start posting the latest fashion trends and styles of the season to keep you updated and fabulous! How does that sound? Now you can be the fashionista!
Today’s fashion trend(s) is not new to culture. In fact, the earliest known date of when these items were worn by women was in 1904! These fashionable items were not a fad…they are making a comeback and are very popular! Yes, ladies and gentleman, they are the jumpsuit and the romper.
What’s the difference between a jumpsuit and a romper? Well, the most significant difference between the two are that jumpsuits, sometimes called pantsuits, are full pants (with long-sleeves sometimes), while rompers are a top/short duo (skirts can be romper bottoms as well). They’re comfortable, durable, and attractive. All of the things you are looking for in an outfit! Rompers and jumpsuits are perfect for the hot summer weather (however, I would prefer to wear a romper during the summer in Texas or California). But like every fashionable trend, they have their “goods” and bads“.
First, let me throw out some pros and cons of rompers:
Pros: can be dressed up or dressed down (with belts, jewelry, etc), comfortable, can be found in a variety of stores in a wide range of designs and colors, very chic, and great for many summer occasions (music festivals, dates, parties, etc).
Cons: might have to deal with a supreme wedgie (when you pull the bottom down, the top goes with it), can’t use the bathroom unless you take the whole romper off (which can be awkward in public settings), shorter rompi (I just made that word up!) tend to let your bottom show, even with tights, and if you’re tall, or bigger on top or on the bottom, a romper might not be for you (cleavage problems and bottom-flashes).
Next, I’ll give you the pros and cons of jumpsuits/pantsuits:
Pros: very chic, can be found in a variety of stores in a wide range of designs and colors, comfortable, and can be dressed up or dressed down (with belts, jewelry, etc).
Cons: jumpsuits with long pants + high heels = the occasional stumble and fall, can’t use the bathroom unless you take the whole jumpsuit off (which can be awkward in public settings), and might have to deal with a supreme wedgie (when you pull the bottom down, the top goes with it).
Celebrities like Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence, and Bella Thorne have rocked the jumpsuit and romper.
Simply put, it’s a chic summer fashion that is gaining international popularity.
Switch out your LBD and wear your jumpsuit or romper; you can dress them up or dress them down any way you like… any way you do it, you’ll be turning heads all around town. ^^
